UPDATE

Actually, there’s a problem with these instructions. If you use anything newer than the nvidia-driver-470 the Nvidia Settings Manager does not install and simplescreenrecorder does not show a dialog box asking you if want to disable “screen flipping” – without disabling this simplescreenrecorder will not work properly. So while the update, below, works it causes problems. Again, there is no way to disable this screen flipping with the updated drivers described below (as there is no settings manager).

This is here because it’s something I always forget. Thie is the best driver for my Asus G11CD and the GTX 750ti graphics card but the driver should be installed, using the driver manager, before upgrading the system. Too, when it’s first intalled it will throw errors. Drop down to a shell and do “apt get upgrade -y”. Reboot and it works fine.
